What we repair
A good drywall repair is three jobs: fix the damage, match the surface, and match the paint. Skipping the last two is why so many patches still show.
Why Florida drywall repairs need a little more care
Many Citrus County homes have textured walls and ceilings, and a flat patch on a knockdown ceiling stands out from across the room. Matching the texture is often more work than the patch itself, and it is the part that decides whether the repair is invisible.
Water is the other Florida problem. Roof leaks, AC condensate lines, and plumbing behind walls all show up as stains or soft spots. Drywall that got wet can hold moisture, and covering it without fixing the source and letting it dry just moves the problem. We find out what caused the damage before we close it up, and if the source belongs to a plumber or roofer, we say so.
When a crack isn't just a crack
Most wall cracks are cosmetic: seams, corners, and nail pops from normal settling and seasonal movement. Some are not. If cracks are wide, keep growing, run diagonally from door or window corners, show up with doors that suddenly stick or tile that is cracking, or appear outside on the block or stucco, the cause may be movement in the structure or foundation.
Parts of Citrus County sit on karst limestone, where ground movement is a known concern for homeowners. In those cases the right first call is a structural engineer or your insurance company, not a drywall patch. We will tell you plainly if what we see should be looked at by someone else before any cosmetic repair is done.
Good question to ask: “What caused this, and will it come back?” A patch over an unresolved leak or active movement is money spent twice.
How a drywall repair works
- Send photos. One wide shot of the wall or ceiling and one close-up of each damaged spot, plus anything you know about what caused it.
- We confirm the scope. We tell you whether it fits a half-day or full-day block, or whether the cause needs another trade first.
- Repair, texture, and paint. The damage is cut out or patched, finished, textured to match, and primed and painted.
- Walk it with us. You check the finished repair in normal light before we leave.
What to send
- Photos of each spot, plus a wide view of the whole wall or ceiling.
- Whether the wall or ceiling is textured, and the paint color or can label if you have it.
- Any leak history: roof, AC, plumbing, and whether it has been fixed.
- Other handyman items you want handled in the same visit.
Drywall repair: common questions
How much does drywall repair cost with iFIXED?
Most drywall repairs are handled in a flat-rate handyman block: $395 for a half day (4 hours) or $695 for a full day (8 hours). Send photos and we will tell you which block fits before anything is booked.
Can you match the texture on my walls or ceiling?
Yes. Knockdown, orange peel, and smooth finishes are blended into the surrounding surface so the repair does not stand out. Exact matches depend on the existing texture, so we look at photos or the wall before promising one.
Do you repair water-damaged ceilings?
Yes, once the leak is fixed and the area is dry. We cut out drywall that has been compromised and replace it, then texture and paint. If the leak is a roofing or plumbing problem, that repair needs to happen first.
Is a crack in my wall a sign of a sinkhole?
Most wall cracks are cosmetic. Wide, growing, or diagonal cracks, cracks with sticking doors or cracked tile, or cracks in exterior block or stucco can point to structural movement. For those, contact a structural engineer or your insurer before any cosmetic repair.
Do you paint after the repair?
Yes. Repairs are primed and painted. If a spot touch-up will not blend with older paint, we will tell you and can paint the full wall.
Can drywall repair be added to other handyman work?
Yes. Drywall patches often share a visit with doors, trim, and painting. Send the full list and we will plan it as one block.
